Tailgating is one of the best parts of game day — great food, fun with friends, and team spirit. But safety should always come first. Follow these tips to ensure everyone has a good time and gets home safely.
Tailgating Safety Tips
- Drive with care. When entering or leaving the parking area, watch for other tailgate setups, pedestrians, and pets.
- Know your limits with alcohol. Enjoy the festivities responsibly. If you’re drinking, assign a designated
driver or plan for a ride service so everyone can get home safely. - Stay hydrated. Tailgates can last all day in the sun. Drink plenty of water throughout the event.
- Protect yourself from the sun. Apply sunscreen before heading out and reapply every two hours, especially on hot, sunny days.
- Grill safely. Keep grilling accidents at bay by having a fire extinguisher nearby and practicing safe food handling.
Follow these simple tips, and your tailgate can be fun, festive, and safe for everyone!
